Published research on the traditional hydrodistillation process used to extract oud oil records typical yields of under 1% of the raw agarwood’s weight. That scarcity is the reason a 3ml YOUDH bottle holds roughly 120 wears applied to pulse points, one drop at a time, which is why the price per wear is lower than it first appears. When the tree is wounded or infected, it produces a dark, fragrant resin as a natural defence, and that resin is distilled into oud oil. YOUDH uses real, natural oud oil rather than a synthetic accord, blended without alcohol in small UK batches.
Oud is warm, woody and resinous, often compared to leather, smoke or aged wood, with sweeter or brighter facets depending on the profile. YOUDH Night leans deep and smoky with resin and leather. YOUDH Light is brighter, opening with rose, amber and orange blossom over a soft agarwood base.
Not always. Most oud sold in the UK is a spray built on an alcohol base, sometimes with synthetic oud accords rather than real agarwood oil. Every YOUDH oud perfume is 100% alcohol-free, oil-based and hypoallergenic, built to sit on the skin rather than evaporate off it.
Because there is no alcohol to evaporate, a natural oud oil binds to warm skin and releases slowly. YOUDH Night typically lasts 8 to 10 hours, YOUDH Light 6 to 8 hours, both from a single drop. Longevity varies with skin type and where the oil is applied.
Often, yes. YOUDH oud perfume is alcohol-free, hypoallergenic and pH-balanced, which suits skin that reacts badly to alcohol sprays.
